NCUK was established in 1987 by its owner universities and has a 23 year history of success in international education.

We work with global partners to deliver programmes which prepare international students for study outside their home country. Over our history, 17,000 students have progressed from NCUK programmes to degree courses in the UK. Because of our unique ownership - by 11 of the UK's leading universities - we are able to guarantee all students who complete our programmes a place on an appropriate degree at one of our partner universities.

Our programmes are developed in partnership with our owner universities, are quality assured to the highest standards and are the perfect academic and cultural preparation for higher education. Our bespoke 'Key Skills' module aims to introduce students to conventions in academic language and preparation, as well as a broader range of study and ICT skills.  

In Nigeria, NCUK has worked successfully with Oxbridge College for the past four years in delivering the NCUK International Foundation Year (NCUK IFY) programme in Nigeria. Building on this success NCUK is now working with a network of prestigious schools delivering NCUK’s IFY across the country – three are based in Lagos, one in Kaduna State and one in Kwara State. This unique pathway programme provides Nigerian students with the study skills and subject knowledge that they need to make their undergraduate study in the UK a success.
