Postgraduate Preparation – Graduate Diploma (Grad Dip)
and Pre-Masters Programme (PMP)

The PMP/Grad Dip comprises two main parts, a core element and a subject theme. The exact course delivered may vary at different NCUK Centres.

Entrance Requirements

Minimum Entrance Requirements for the NCUK Graduate Diploma: Students usually need to have successfully completed a 3-year Diploma. A minimum English language level of IELTS 5.0 (TOEFL 500) is required. If you have relevant work experience, this will help to give you a wider range of progression options for study at Masters level.

Minimum Entrance Requirements for the NCUK PMP: Students need to have successfully completed a 4-year undergraduate degree (or 3-year UK degree). A minimum English language level of IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL iBT 75) is required. If you have relevant work experience, this will help to give you a wider range of progression options for study at Masters level.

Course Elements

Key Skills/English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
This module is important to help improve the reading and writing skills needed for academic study. It focuses on specific study skills needed for postgraduate study, and also combines study of essential computer skills needed for university study.
Research Methods
This is an essential part of the PMP/Grad Dip and delivers the skills needed to research, analyse and complete a major project. Students complete an original dissertation, and are assisted in planning and preparing this effectively.
