Why Ndishe chose UWA
When deciding where to study, Ndishe wanted a university with a strong global reputation. That’s why he chose UWA – a member of the Group of Eight that ranks in the world’s top 50 for a range of Engineering courses (QS 2024 and GRAS 2023).
“I chose UWA because of its high academic prestige, particularly in the Engineering space, and because it’s one of the Group of Eight universities.”
Perth’s prime location has also made UWA the perfect choice.
“I chose to study in Perth because of its proximity to home, so the time difference is about six hours.”
First impressions of UWA and Perth
From the moment he arrived, Ndishe was struck by Perth’s natural beauty and UWA’s stunning campus, with its heritage architecture, lush gardens and modern facilities.
“My first impression of Perth was that it is a really beautiful city. It’s situated around the rivers, and the scenery and greenery are really beautiful.”
One of the things he loves most is Perth’s warm, sunny climate, which makes it easy to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle all year round.
“I love the good weather in Perth. For the most part, I love to wear shorts and a t-shirt, and being in Perth allows me to have that freedom. It just really makes you feel great when you’re in an environment with great weather!”
Gaining real-world experience at UWA
At UWA, we believe that getting career-ready is just as important as earning your degree. That’s why we prioritise industry-integrated learning, giving our students hands-on experience while they study. For Ndishe, this is a major highlight.
“There is a really big emphasis on you getting work experience at the same time as you study, and I find that beneficial because it lets you figure out what you want to do once you get out of university.”
With strong industry connections and Perth’s growing economy, UWA students graduate with the skills, experience, and networks needed to launch successful careers.
