John Brewer’s interview to The PIE News
At the end of January 2020, NCUK’s Chief Executive Officer, Professor John Brewer gave an interview to The PIE News in which he reflected on the future of international higher education and the key role that NCUK plays and will play for students wishing to study abroad.
When he was asked about the future of NCUK as a pathway qualification provider, Professor Brewer made very clear that there is an increasing number of students who see these qualifications as the ideal way to come to the UK and therefore, NCUK has a key role in providing these students with the qualifications they need in order to progress to some of the best universities in the UK.
Professor Brewer has no doubt that the future of UK Universities also relies on the importance of increasing diversity within these institutions and is confident that this will be the trend in the coming years if the cap on domestic undergraduate fees is reduced.
When faced with the question of how Chinese students are changing their study destinations preferences, John was very optimistic by confirming that, while the US might be experiencing a decline, other destinations such as the UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are rapidly increasing their popularity. NCUK is proud to be able to offer students, not only in China but across the world, the opportunity to progress to some of the best universities in these countries, always ensuring that the highest academic standards are met and exceeded.
