Post-study UK work visa reintroduced for international students for 2020/21

The UK Government has, today, announced plans to reintroduce the post-study work visa which allows international students the right to live and work in the UK for up to two years after graduating from university.

The plans are due to come into place for students who enroll to university in the 2020/21 academic year.

The post-study work visa will be available to all international students who successfully complete a degree at undergraduate degree or above at a UK higher education institution, which has a proven track record of upholding immigration checks.

There will be no cap on the number of students who can apply for the post-study work visa, providing all eligible students the opportunity to work at any level.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the change would see students “unlock their potential” and begin careers in the UK.

“This is excellent news which will benefit the whole international education sector and once again makes the UK one of the most attractive places to study.”
