Law
- The LLB Law degree at Bradford will equip students with all the legal tools and expertise they’ll need for a career as a solicitor or barrister as well as helping them to develop important transferable knowledge and skills, honing their communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Bradford’s LLB programmes are flexible in structure and share a common first and second year, which gives students the option to switch to a more specialist LLB in the final year and tailor their study to a particular aspect of Law. This allows students to take their time to decide on which aspect of Law is right for them.
- Upon successful completion of the Bradford LLB Law degree, students are able to proceed to the Legal Practice Course (for aspiring solicitors) or the Bar Professional Training Course (for aspiring barristers).
Economics
- Degrees at Bradford provide students with vocationally relevant knowledge and understanding, and, depending on modules taken, they will qualify for partial exemption from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) examinations.
- Bradford students are highly successful in securing both summer and year-long internships and placements with prestigious employers, including the competitive Government Economic Service placement scheme (e.g. Department for Work and Pensions, Department of Health and the Treasury), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and a range of private sector companies involved in marketing, finance and the voluntary sector.
- It is also possible to arrange a work placement or study at one of Bradford’s partner institutions across Europe, North America, East Asia or Australia.
Pharmacy
- Bradford has two successful MPharm programmes – 5 year MPharm includes a paid pre-registration year
- 5-year programme more suitable for overseas candidates wishing to register as a pharmacist in the UK

- Students will learn in excellent clinical and enhanced simulation facilities
- A Pharmacy degree can lead to wide ranging careers in community, hospital, primary care and industrial pharmacy
Biomedical Sciences
- The Digital Health Zone allows students to access the latest techniques in digital anatomy and pathology, including carrying out digital dissection using imaging technology
- The course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the professional body for Biomedical Scientists and is approved by the Healthcare and Professions Council (HCPC)
- The course contains research-informed teaching, including the latest research findings and techniques and allows students to work to their strengths through optional study in the final year (including a laboratory-based research project)
- Career openings exist in medical research (hospitals, universities or research institutes), the pharmaceutical industry, medical information services, teaching, medical writing and publishing. The course also provides essential transferable skills for non-science-based graduate employment. Many graduates also undertake postgraduate study (medical degrees, master’s level or PhD level qualifications)
Forensic Science
- First university in the UK to offer a forensics science degree, and we continue to develop the programme to ensure that it is up-to-date with the requirements of the forensics sector.
- Bradford’s interdisciplinary approach offers the integration of practical skills training within a good theoretical framework – whether in terms of crime scene investigation, the collection, examination and interpretation of physical evidence or laboratory processing and analysis.

- Crime scene techniques are taught in our dedicated crime scene facility, with analysis of evidence supported by a forensics laboratory and the University’s Centre for Chemical and Structural Analysis.
Physiotherapy

International Health Management

Peace Studies, International Relations, International Development and Psychology
- Students travel from all over the world to study peace, politics, international relations and conflict resolution and alumni end up working in the most diverse places: in the military, in the United Nations, in NGOs (both local and global), in education, journalism and government.
- The University of Bradford hosts a Rotary Peace Centre, which welcomes around ten International Rotary Peace Fellows each year, who have each been awarded prestigious Rotary Scholarships.
- Psychology and Psychology and Counselling undergraduate programmes are accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Computer Science
- Undergraduate degrees taught by the School are accredited by a professional body – BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT – giving students a degree with a mark of quality that employers understand and value.
- Exposure to industry is deeply embedded within all the courses in a number of ways. Courses are industry informed with Bradford’s Industry Advisory Board (IAB), a membership comprised of industry representatives from both regional and national companies, including BBC, BT, IBM, Microsoft and Service Now.
- Courses are available with an optional year of supervised industrial training which greatly enhances the value of your degree. Students find placements in companies such as: Intel, Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and J.P.Morgan.
Chemical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering has been ranked top 20 in the UK in the 2022 Guardian University League Tables
- Bradford’s Chemical Engineering degrees are accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers. Courses are available with an optional year of supervised industrial training which greatly enhances the value of the degree. Students find industry placements in companies such as: BASF Performance Products, Amec and OSL Consulting.
- Most Chemical Engineers gain employment in industries where large-scale conversion of raw materials is involved and also in the process industries. Many past graduates have found employment in major companies such as BP, Unilever, Pfizer and BASF.
Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
- Courses are available with an optional year of supervised industrial training which greatly enhances the value of the degree. Students find placements in companies such as: Cummins, Nissan and Ford.
- The School of Engineering has recently invested £1.5m into a multidisciplinary Engineering lab. The lab is a flexible and open space to engage students’ learning in bringing theory to practice.
- Bradford graduates pursue careers in all areas of engineering, automotive and manufacturing industry, but also in wider fields such as marketing, business management and public service work. Recent graduates went on to work for employers such as Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, and Toyota, in roles including graduate engineer, design engineer, process engineer, and CAD engineer.
Civil & Structural Engineering
- Civil Engineering has been ranked 7th in the UK in the 2022 Guardian University League Tables
- The degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation on behalf of the Engineering Council Courses are available with an optional year of supervised industrial training which greatly enhances the value of the degree. Students find placements in companies such as: ARUP, Balfour Beatty and Van Elle
- Civil Engineers are amongst the most employable and highly paid of all graduates. Examples of recent employers include AMEC, Mowlem Civil Engineering, W S Atkins Consulting Engineers and ARUP Consulting Engineers.
Architecture
- In BEng (Hons) or MEng Architectural Engineering you will study in the exciting and ever-changing field combining problem-solving, design, construction and innovation to make the structures sustainable, safe and aesthetically pleasing
- BSc Architectural Technology will enable you to not only design and manage the construction processes of new buildings, but to innovate and manage the restoration of existing buildings to meet future needs
- Both courses are available with an optional placement year where you will be able to develop your professional experience, build industry contacts, and gain insight into the day-to-day work of a professional engineer
- Automatic scholarship of £7,500 as a tuition fee discount is available for all self-funded international students
Film, Television & Media
- BA (Hons) Film and Television Production is accredited by ScreenSkills, the sector skills council for the creative industries, which ensures that the course is work-based and industry relevant. Industry professionals also make regular inputs into this course
- Students have access to a range of state-of-the-art broadcast production and postproduction facilities, including a professionally equipped HDTV Outside Broadcasting Truck, television studio and 16 camera Vicon Motion Capture suite
- Many of graduates have found employment in media organisations and companies such as the BBC, Channel 4, Endemol and ITV, and others progressing to be camera operators, web design, TV production, multimedia development, news reporters, studio and location managers, editors, directors and producers. Some have even gone on to set up their own media production companies such as Shoot Productions
