During the summer of 2020, thousands of NCUK students have been supported in completing their NCUK qualifications against the challenging backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic.

94% of students are already holding university offers or moving onto their next level of study from the July results release. NCUK is confident that the majority of the August release will have their places confirmed in the coming days.

Renzo Galván Abrizzio, an NCUK student from NCUK Study Centre Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) Peru shared the thoughts echoed by the majority of NCUK students around the world

“I am truly excited to start my course at the University of Bristol this year. Even though the pandemic has presented challenges to students, I am happy with this outcome. I appreciate the support NCUK has given students and hope to continue having this wonderful communication with NCUK.”

As NCUK were able to carry out final assessments for all their students, appeals in July were in line and slightly under the previous years with fewer than 1% submitting an appeal to NCUK. The work undertaken with our stakeholders to develop a robust awarding model has been fair to all students, transparent and quality assured.

“Out of all of our awarding body partners, NCUK was the first to send a letter of support and concern when the virus first broke out which was greatly appreciated. I was very impressed with the communications and the transparency of the grading process so that students would not be disadvantaged.

The NCUK approach was open, professional, and collaborative and their support for Study Centres has been extremely well received.”

Emma Dawkins, NCUK Academic Director added:

“NCUK would like to thank all the team at NCUK, at our global Study Centres and most importantly, the students for demonstrating their resilience, flexibility and readiness to adapt to different modes of study and assessment in the last year.

We can confirm that for anyone joining NCUK in the class of 2020/21 will be assured their full assessments will take place as planned in the year to come. Our Study Centres are ready to deliver online, face-to-face or blended as needed. We have just launched our digital assessment plans for the year so we can deliver once more in offering continuity for our students at times of such uncertainty. With NCUK, our students will be future ready.”
