There are over 4 million globally mobile students and this figure is growing. The UK’s popularity is evidenced by the fact that it attracts 10% of this market with only 162 institutions, compared to the USA attracting 25% of this market with more than 2,200 degree awarding institutions.

Ken Gill, CEO of NCUK

According to the Universities UK 2017 report, the UK is the most popular destination for international students. NCUK, like many in the international education industry, recognise that Brexit is a threat to the market however, from our experience, the UK remains a competitive and popular route for international students. This is also evidenced by the latest UCAS figures which shows that applications from overseas countries outside of the European Union have risen 2% from 69,300 in 2016 to 70,830 in 2017 one year after Brexit was announced.

NCUK is a consortium of leading UK universities dedicated to giving international students guaranteed access to universities worldwide and has placed over 30,000 students into UK universities over the last 30 years.
