Success with NCUK’s first online University Global Fair!

NCUK hosted its first University Global Fair on Thursday 12 November, allowing over 1,000+ students worldwide to come together to learn more about NCUK Universities and attend informative sessions about the popular study destinations that they can progress to.

Aimed at current and prospective NCUK students, the fair was a fantastic way for students to find out more about the NCUK Universities through dedicated sessions led by university and NCUK staff, booths which included videos along with useful links and documents as well as the option to speak with university staff members one to one.

Like many others in the international higher education sector,  NCUK has been unable to attend in-person events throughout the majority of the year so it’s been crucial that we find innovative ways to collaborate with Study Centres and universities to ensure that current and prospective students are given as much support as possible to help them reach their dream course at university. NCUK has quickly adapted to maintain a sense of consistency by supporting students with lots of information via our website, webinars, emails and through social media and now we can share the great success that was the first NCUK University Global Fair.

It’s integral for us to reach NCUK students and give them as much support as possible; this fair has enabled us to do this. It was great to see the excitement and buzz between students and universities engaging within the platform and I’d like to thank all NCUK universities who took part The success of this fair will undoubtedly lead to future virtual events to help students progress to their dream university.

Ben Cunliffe, NCUK Marketing Manager

NCUK Market Development staff held a session about NCUK qualifications and progression options whilst also being on hand to speak with anyone who had any questions throughout the day, replicating the dedication and support provided at an in-person event.

Staff from NCUK Universities also took advantage of this great opportunity with many attending the fair and using their time to provide lots of information whilst showcasing their universities as ideal study destinations for students. Dedicated members of staff were also on hand to speak to students to provide further information as well as using the live chat feeds in the lobby to offer insights and answering student questions.

Universities collaborated with us to prepare study destination sessions which gave students an in-depth look at the countries that they can study in at university as well as more information about the university hosting the session. One such session about ‘Studying in the UK’ was led by Aston University’s Jane Dunn who spoke highly about the fair:

It was a real pleasure to provide some help and guidance to students, parents and teachers at the event –  some great questions and really inspired students –  thank you to NCUK for the invitation, I’m looking forward to the next one!

Jane Dunn, Global Pathways Development Manager, Aston University

The high level of support and engagement from NCUK Universities has helped elevate the NCUK University Global Fair and we would like to thank all who participated in the fair.

We are excited to host future events of this scale and hope that all attendees found it worthwhile and informative. Keep a lookout for future events from NCUK coming soon.
