Student wellbeing

You should also be looking after your routine outside of your study times since being at home might not be easy at first. Below, you will find some useful advice that we encourage you to follow in order to make the most of your time.

  • Prioritise your sleep. Going to bed and getting up at regular times will have a direct impact on your mood and your ability to concentrate. By waking up nice and early you will find that you will have more opportunities in the day to do everything that you want at the same time as maintaining lower levels of stress.
  • Eat healthily. It is very important that you make the right choices that will benefit your physical health and wellbeing while staying at home. Try to eat at regular times and make the best possible choices whenever you can!
  • Keep in touch with friends and family. Whilst socialising outdoors might not be a possibility for the time being, there are still many things that you can do to keep in touch with your loved ones. Take some time to phone family members that might not be at home with you to check how they are doing or arrange a video call with your friends to catch up as if you were meeting at a café!
  • Keep moving. It is also key that you stay active and practise some daily exercise. Online platforms like YouTube give users access to thousands of unlimited free videos. From dancing or yoga to full work out routines, make sure that you make the most of the online resources available!
  • Have fun and stay positive. As important as studying hard is, having fun is also a fundamental part of our daily lives so you want to make sure that you spend some quality time doing the things that you like. If your local government recommends to stay at home, there are lots of enjoyable things that you can do while the temporary measures are still in place. How many times have you said that you would love to have more time to read all your favourite books or learn a new craft? Now is the time! With so many online resources, you will be able to learn a new skill or simply relax watching your favourite films.
