A week in New York: Global conversations on education
Posted:
NCUK’s CEO Stuart Smith recently travelled to New York with Chair of NCUK Professor Carl Stychin and Commercial Operations Director Brad Johnson for a series of PVBLIC Foundation and partner events held alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Following the Transforming Global Education Summit at the UN in May, the week brought together leaders from government, education, investment, technology and sustainable development to share ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Creating access through global curriculum
At the United Nations SDG Media Zone, Stuart presented “Creating Access Through Global Curriculum”, setting out how internationally recognised pathway programmes can widen access to higher education for students around the world.
He also joined the panel “The National Blueprint: How Countries are Transforming Education”, alongside representatives from Nigeria, Tonga and the Learning Economy Foundation.
The discussion explored how different countries are approaching education reform and the role of international partnerships in supporting national priorities.
Family Offices for Sustainable Development Summit
The NCUK team also attended the Family Offices for Sustainable Development Summit, creating further opportunities to connect with global leaders and continue conversations around education, access and sustainable development.
Looking ahead
It was a busy and inspiring few days, and another valuable opportunity for NCUK to be part of the global conversation on the future of education. We would like to thank the PVBLIC Foundation and everyone we met along the way.
