NCUK is excited to announce its partnership with Matrix Higher Education Pathways to offer the NCUK International Foundation Year at two locations in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This collaboration aims to provide students in Bangladesh with a high-quality educational pathway to prestigious universities worldwide.

Matrix Higher Education Pathways will be delivering the NCUK International Foundation Year which is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen undergraduate degree programs. Successful completion of this qualification will enable students to gain guaranteed entry to one of 45+ NCUK University Partners located in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and more.

This partnership between NCUK and Matrix Higher Education Pathways reflects NCUK’s commitment to establishing strong collaborations with institutions globally to build successful pathways for students. It also demonstrates Matrix Higher Education Pathways’ dedication to providing outstanding educational opportunities for students in Bangladesh.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our first NCUK Study Centre in Bangladesh, in partnership with Matrix Global. This strategic collaboration aligns with our mission to provide high-quality university pathway programmes for international students. Our aim has always been, and remains, to equip students with academic knowledge and the language, study, social and cultural skills they need to excel at university. The Matrix Institute of Higher Education will provide a transformative learning experience, allowing exceptional Bangladeshi students to enter world-renowned universities. NCUK is committed to expanding education opportunities worldwide and is thrilled to open the first-ever Study Centre in Bangladesh with this distinguished partner.

Stuart Smith, NCUK Chief Executive Officer

In light of recent challenges faced by the higher education sector in Bangladesh, NCUK has taken an affirmative step to restore confidence and diversify recruitment. A recent report from admissions platform Enroly highlighted a 15% decline in CAS issuance for Bangladesh in 2023, with some universities pulling back from the market at the postgraduate level. The addition of a foundation pathway in-country provided by NCUK and Matrix Higher Education Pathways aims to provide a much-needed solution that will attract students and restore faith in the market. By offering a foundation pathway in Bangladesh, NCUK aims to diversify recruitment and open doors for a wider undergraduate base of students.

Golam Mortuza, CEO of MH Global Group, spoke of his pride in bringing foundation pathway opportunities back to his home country.

Our partnership with NCUK is part of a long-term commitment to Bangladesh with our newly formed academic and English services programmes. We aim to support opportunities to widen participation to applicants who may previously not have had the same opportunities as we are now able to offer. This centre will form the first of many [Study Centres] and is a testament to our long-term commitment to the education sector.

Golam Mortuza, MH Global Group Chief Executive Officer

NCUK looks forward to collaborating with Matrix Higher Education Pathways and wishes them the best of luck as they begin delivery of the NCUK International Foundation Year in 2024.
