NCUK is delighted to announce that alumnus Liu Daming has been shortlisted for the International Alumni of the Year award at the 2018 Pieoneer Awards!

Liu Daming

Liu Daming, who progressed to The University of Manchester after studying the International Foundation Year qualification at Can-Achieve Lanzhou, was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) when he was very young and at the age of seven he was told by doctors that he would only live for 12 years. Since then Liu Daming has defied the odds and has survived 11 major surgeries and dozens of fixation surgeries. To read more about his story please click here.

NCUK strives to help international students gain the skills necessary to progress to university, and we are proud that we help change young people’s lives. For one of our alumni to be shortlisted for this award, especially after the hardships that he’s managed to overcome is incredibly rewarding!
