NCUK Appoints Andrew Howells as New Chief Marketing Officer

NCUK is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Howells MCIM as its new Chief Marketing Officer. With more than 15 years of experience in senior marketing roles in higher education, Andrew brings a wealth of expertise and a track record of significant accomplishments to this critical role.

Before joining NCUK, Andrew served as the Assistant Director for External Affairs at Universities UK International (UUKi), a sector body representing 140 UK universities. His prior roles also include senior positions in marketing, student recruitment, and alumni relations at the University of Southampton and Royal Holloway, University of London.

Throughout his career, Andrew has been recognised for his outstanding work in the field of marketing. He has won several prestigious awards, including the CASE Europe ‘Circle of Excellence’ award for the University of Southampton’s Replay campaign in 2019, the ‘Best Issues and Crisis Campaign’ at the PR Week Global awards in 2022 for UUKi’s #WeAreTogether campaign, and the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ at the PIEoneer Awards in 2023 for UUKi’s #TwinForHope campaign.

In addition to these achievements, he led the relaunch of the UK higher education sector’s #WeAreInternational campaign in 2023. He also chairs UniQuest’s international advisory board and is a parent governor at his children’s primary school.

Andrew will begin his position as Chief Marketing Officer for NCUK on Monday 27 November.
