On 6 August, NCUK hosted its 2024 China Regional Partner Appreciation Dinner in Beijing, bringing together partners, university representatives, and industry leaders to celebrate achievements and foster future collaborations. The 2023-24 academic cycle has been particularly successful, with Chinese students receiving more than 3,000 university offers from over 55 world-ranked universities through NCUK pathways.
Harry Feng, Regional Director of NCUK China, opened the evening by emphasising the importance of partnership: “We firmly believe it’s crucial to celebrate your success with NCUK, as ‘your success is our success’. This event is a testament to the strong bonds we’ve built with our partners across China.”
The event welcomed representatives from key NCUK study centres, partner universities, and educational institutions. Notable attendees included delegates from New Oriental, International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University, The University of Manchester, and the University of Birmingham, among others.
The British Embassy in China, the China-Britain Business Council, and the British Council were also represented, underscoring the importance of UK-China educational partnerships.
Stuart Smith, Chief Executive Officer at NCUK, reflected on the organisation’s journey and its impact: “Our mission has and always will be to offer students the opportunity to access and gain a global education from wherever they are in the world. NCUK has existed for more than 35 years, launching in 1987, and since then we have been a pioneer in terms of offering Transnational education programmes around the globe. NCUK has grown and is now partnered with 55 Universities across 6 major study destinations, with 9 of the QS Top 100 and 19 of the QS Top 200 part of our global study network.”
NCUK’s growth in China since 1999 has been remarkable, expanding from its first Study Centre at Chengdu No.7 High School International Department to now boasting 37 study centres across the country. Commenting on this success, Stuart Smith added, “I am always so inspired when visiting an NCUK study centre with the respective academic teams for their dedication and commitment to offering a world-class educational experience and preparing students to not only enter but succeed at University.”
The evening provided a valuable platform for networking and celebration, reinforcing NCUK’s commitment to providing quality international education pathways for Chinese students. As NCUK continues to strengthen its presence in China, it remains dedicated to opening doors to top universities worldwide for an increasing number of ambitious Chinese students year on year.
