NCUK Launches New University Access Programme

Posted:

NCUK has launched a new qualification to widen access to UK Universities. The University Access Programme is a one-year pre-university preparation programme designed to enhance English language and study skills, equipping students with the essential tools needed to gain entry to a business-related degree at selected NCUK University Partners, the University of Kent and Leeds Beckett University.

Delivered over 30 weeks, the programme has a strong focus on the enhancement of the English language ability and building of the necessary skills to become an independent, autonomous learner. Students will study three areas of business (management, finance, and marketing) as well as maths, a business project and NCUK’s English for Academic Purposes which is recognised as proof of English language by NCUK University Partners and can also be used for UK visa purposes.

The qualification is designed for students who require additional English language support or who do not meet the entry requirements of its sister flagship qualification, the International Foundation Year. Interested students are expected to have successfully completed 12 years of school education to a defined level and have an English language level of at least IELTS 4.5 or equivalent.

Successful completion of the University Access Programme provides students with progression to a business-related undergraduate degree at Leeds Beckett University or the University of Kent (subject to meeting all university entry requirements).

Joe Rossiter, Associate Director – International Recruitment & Partnerships at Leeds Beckett University says

Leeds Beckett University is delighted to be able to accept the University Access Programme delivered by NCUK. We have a long-standing relationship with NCUK and together we are aiming to enable as many students as possible to be able to access UK Higher Education; the NCUK University Access Programme will further our ability to do that.

The University Access Programme will be available from September 2022 with Study Centres locations to be announced in due course. For more information about the University Access Programme, click here.
