NCUK tours study centres in Nigeria

Last month, representatives from NCUK and several of our partner universities visited four of our Study Centres across Nigeria. Students from Oxbridge Tutorial College, British International School, Chrisland College and Brookstone School were given the chance to discuss their upcoming university applications with representatives and academics from each institution, as well as listen to informative presentations about studying in the UK.

Prospective students and parents from local schools were also invited to speak directly with NCUK and university representatives to find out more about the foundation courses that we offer and our guaranteed route to the UK and beyond. They were given a unique insight into university life in the UK, studying at our partner institutions and the thousands of degree programmes that NCUK’s International Foundation Year can lead to.

The tour concluded with the official launch of our new study centre in Abuja. The state-of-the-art college is NCUK’s first venture in Abuja with our existing Port Harcourt partner, Brookstone School. Market Development Executive, Andrew Straughan, was delighted to attend the launch event, and spoke of his excitement to be working in a new capacity with Brookstone.

With 4 years experience delivering NCUK’s programmes and coupled with a new purpose-built campus and cutting-edge facilities, I have every confidence in the success of Brookstone’s new site in the capital. Students will have a choice of thousands of degree courses and, of course, NCUK’s guaranteed access to any of its 16 universities in the UK.”

Also in attendance were Zakari Mohammed, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education and the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright. Mr Arkwright spoke to the Nigerian Daily Sun newspaper about the expansion of NCUK in Nigeria and Brookstone’s long-standing reputation for quality education.

Brookstone already enjoys an extremely strong reputation as a quality education provider here in Nigeria, expanding from their current operations in Port Harcourt. NCUK has also operated in Nigeria for over 10 years.
