What will you try?

Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is no surprise that Falmouth University is committed to sustainability through various initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, integrating sustainability into education, and fostering community engagement.

In 2019, Falmouth University declared a climate and ecological emergency, recognising the urgent need to address environmental challenges. The university has developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy that focuses on three key themes: Learning & Teaching, Research & Knowledge Exchange, and Physical Estate & Operations.

The University is using its own bespoke tool to detect and aid embedding sustainability into its courses, equipping students with relevant knowledge and skills to make a difference during their studies and, most importantly, after they graduate.

Sustainability runs through its courses like a golden thread, from Fashion, to Business, to Product Design, it is fundamental to Falmouth’s approach.

Falmouth University’s research will actively contribute to the generation of new ideas and innovations that contribute to fighting the causes of, and adapting to, the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss, while its knowledge exchange leverages resources and expertise to support evidence-based, positive action for change across business and society.
