City Life at Suffolk University

Suffolk University, founded in 1906, has become an integral part of Boston and is deeply connected to its people and institutions. Being in downtown Boston means stepping into the heart of the city and abundant action and opportunities, from global firms in the Financial District to Beacon Hill’s State House. With Downtown Crossing shops, Chinatown restaurants, and Theatre District venues within walking distance, the campus offers endless activities.

Find endless activities and events all within walking distance of Suffolk’s campus. Art and music lovers can explore museums like the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art, attend concerts at venues including MGM Music Hall and the House of Blues and experience performances at the Boston Ballet and Symphony Hall.

Student Accommodation

Living at Suffolk University goes beyond residence halls and dining. The university campus is surrounded by diverse cuisine, historical landmarks, live music and museums. Students will find that Suffolk University’s history and culture are intertwined with Boston’s energy.

Living on-campus offers many benefits including free tutor-assisted study halls, recreation facilities and dining halls. Residence Life staff and Suffolk University Police Department Security are available 24 hours a day to ensure you feel safe on campus. Living in the residence halls is also a great way to meet new friends.

Suffolk University has five residence halls within a short walk to campus. Rooms may accommodate two to four students in two bedrooms with a shared bathroom or two students in a shared room with a community bathroom.

On-campus residents must have a meal plan. Those living off-campus can choose from on-campus dining, nearby restaurants, or local grocery stores.

  • University-sponsored residence halls are guaranteed for all incoming first year students for two years.
  • Being so close to classes, the library and study spaces helps students stay on top of their workload, while also being a part of the campus community.

Students will find public transit, shopping, restaurants, theatres and cultural attractions just steps from your new home.

Suffolk University sports facilities are located throughout Boston. Suffolk University has 19 men’s and women’s NCAA Division III teams.
