Life at The University of Law

International students at The University of Law join a friendly, diverse community representing 126+ countries. From Welcome activities and cultural events to student‑led clubs and societies, there are plenty of ways to meet people and feel at home alongside study.

The Students’ Union helps students get involved on campus and provides independent advice and support when needed. Students can also explore #LiveProspectus for an authentic, student‑led view of day‑to‑day life, and read international student stories about studying and living in the UK.

At The University of Law, employability is built into the student experience so students can focus on what comes next with confidence.

The Employability Service is available across the University, meaning support is accessible wherever students study — and careers guidance is available even before a course begins. Students can get practical, personalised help with career planning, applications, CVs, interviews and finding opportunities to build experience, alongside employability programmes that develop the skills employers look for.

For many postgraduate students, The University of Law’s Employment Promise provides extra reassurance (terms and conditions apply). If an eligible graduate does not obtain a job within nine months of successfully completing their course, they may receive 100% of their fees back — made up of 50% cashback, plus 50% credit towards another course.

The University of Law teaches in city‑centre campuses across the UK and internationally, giving students choice over where they live and study. With 17 campus locations across the UK, students can base themselves in major destinations such as London (Bloomsbury and Moorgate), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Nottingham.

Each location offers its own character — from culture and food to museums, shopping and green spaces — with campuses placed close to commercial districts and employers. Travel is straightforward, with strong rail and road connections and access to nearby airports, making it easy to explore the UK during study.

The University of Law provides dedicated support to help international students settle in, stay well and succeed academically.

Before arrival, Campus Hub teams run pre‑departure webinars and provide guidance on enrolment and preparing for life in the UK. Once students start, support continues online and on campus — including practical help with banking, healthcare and housing, and advice if students are feeling homesick.

For immigration and visa queries, the International Student Advice team offers free, confidential and impartial guidance on Student visas, working rules and navigating UK requirements. Wellbeing support is available at every campus, with Wellbeing Advisors as a first point of contact and access to professional counselling.

The University of Law supports students in finding accommodation across its many campus locations, with guidance available throughout the process.

A key resource is Studentpad, the University’s accommodation search platform, which helps students look for a range of options in their chosen campus city — including private halls (purpose‑built student accommodation), shared student houses, flats and lodgings. Studentpad also includes helpful information on housing rights and responsibilities, and students can register for property alerts to stay up to date with new listings.

In addition, the University works with a number of campus‑specific accommodation partners in major cities, offering a limited amount of accommodation for new domestic and international students (eligibility to apply is typically after accepting an offer). Students can also contact the Accommodation Team for advice and support while arranging their living plans.

Facilities at The University of Law are designed to make study feel focused, supportive and professionally relevant. Across its locations, students have access to modern learning environments, with a balance of quiet spaces for independent work and collaborative areas for group study.

Teaching rooms are set up for interactive learning, and many campuses include specialist environments that reflect professional practice, giving students opportunities to build confidence through skills‑based activities such as advocacy, interviewing, negotiation and problem‑solving.

With helpful on‑site Campus Hub teams and city‑centre campuses close to local amenities and transport links, students can make the most of their time both in and out of class.

The Live Prospectus offers great insight into the day to day life of Ulaw students. The University of Law runs an international buddy scheme to ensure international students have the opportunity to connect with other students upon arrival in the UK.

There are numerous social events that take place on campus such as quizzes, yoga classes, breakfast club and afternoon tea. There are also a number of dedicated cultural events run throughout the year, such as:

  • Ramadan & Eid
  • Holi
  • Diwali
  • Passover/Psach
  • Lunar New Year
  • Black History Month
  • Italian Republic Day
