One of the highlights of the University for the Creative Arts’ Students’ Union is the number of hobbies to discover through its clubs and societies. From K-Pop dance or cheerleading, sports or culture there’s something for everyone. The Union also hosts Winter and Spring Markets for you to attend or sell your creations. Click here to learn more.

University for the Creative Arts’ dedicated Creative Careers and Employability team, prepares and develops you for future employment or study, all to build a sustainable creative life.

As well as learning from academic staff and technicians, many of whom are practising artists and industry leaders, the careers team, throughout your studies and even after you’ve graduated, offers support and expert advice, using their in-depth knowledge and experience of the creative industries.

As well as extensive online resources, the team hosts workshops and events, advises how to make, and make the most of industry connections and which professional networks to join. One-to-one sessions are also available.

While at University for the Creative Arts you’ll also be involved in industry-led experiences. You’ll take part in live industry briefs or competitions, working with leading companies and brands to collaborate on designs, creative briefs and proposals. Canterbury School of Art, Architecture and DesignCanterbury is known for its historic beauty, stunning architecture, and cool café culture – a vibrant place to live and explore while you study. Our relaxed and friendly campus is located just on the edge of the city. The Cathedral is only a short walk away, and on sunny days, a quick bus ride takes you to the Kent coastline.

Epsom School of Creative Business, Fashion and Enterprise – This campus is located on the edge of the town centre of Epsom, here you’ll find everything you need – from shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, to nights and days out. Popular spots also include Rosebery Park, which is opposite the campus – perfect for socialising and relaxing. Also take the train to London and be there within an hour.

Farnham School of Creative and Cultural Industries – With its market-town charm, World Craft Town status and excellent transport links to London, the south east and the south coast, Farnham has plenty to offer. Located in Farnham itself, our campus is close to a host of cafes, restaurants, pubs and independent shops. You’ll also find stunning spots for countryside walks close to Farnham, including Bourne Woods, where many blockbuster movies have been filmed.

Maidstone Television Studios – Study television production in the UK’s largest independent TV studio facility at our partner organisation. Located in the vibrant town of Maidstone in Kent, the Studios are just over 30 miles from London and about 25 miles from our Canterbury campus. Maidstone offers excellent shopping, museums and galleries, events throughout the year and stunning local countryside to explore.

The University wants to make sure you get the most out of your time there. That means offering more than just general information. University for the Creative Arts’ Campus Life team provides advice and guidance whenever you need it, on a variety of areas related to your student experience from wellbeing to disability, money matters to course administration. The team also offers specialist support services for international students around immigration.

Students requesting support for their mental health and wellbeing are offered a wellbeing check-in where they can talk to a member of the team who will work with them to create a plan that could include a referral to its counselling service, where you can talk to professionally qualified and experienced counsellors.

Moving away from home can be one of the biggest steps in student life. Wherever you’re staying while you study, the University’s job is to make sure you feel settled and happy.

Canterbury School of Art, Architecture and Design – Two accommodation options are available at Canterbury – Ian Dury House on campus and Riverside Student Quarter, just 20 minutes walk from campus.

Epsom School of Creative Business, Fashion and Enterprise – Discover the variety of halls of residence options at Epsom, all offering a small and friendly university accommodation experience. There are four different accommodation blocks available – Bradford House, Wilberforce Court, Crossways House and Worple Road – located either next to campus or a ten-minute walk away.

Farnham School of Creative and Cultural Industries – Farnham has extensive halls of residence with its Student Village and University Walk, right in the heart of the action on campus. Built in the nearby town of Aldershot, there is also Polden Studios, Union Yard – off-campus accommodation via an agreement between the University and a private purpose-built student accommodation provider.

Maidstone Television Studios – The University doesn’t have accommodation for Maidstone Television Studios, but there is support to help you find somewhere to stay while you study. In your first year you can also apply to live in the Canterbury accommodation and utilise the University’s shuttle bus service to get to and from the Studios.

If you’d prefer private accommodation, the University’s dedicated team can help you find and secure it.

Canterbury School of Art, Architecture and Design – Canterbury is home to architecture, design, fine art and visual communications it has – a large accessible machine workshop; digital fabrication lab; print bureau; sculpture, painting and printmaking studios; three fully equipped digital media suites; motion capture studio; colour and back-and-white darkrooms; photographic studio; animation suite.

Epsom School of Creative Business, Fashion and Enterprise – Epsom hosts the University’s creative business and fashion courses, plus much more – extensive fashion studios with sewing facilities; dedicated fashion atelier machine rooms and pattern-cutting studios; make-up and hair design salon; digital print and screen print studios; sound studio with equipped sound booth; fully equipped photographic studios; seminar rooms; video conferencing; boardrooms.

Farnham School of Creative and Cultural Industries – Farnham is home to the University’s film, performing arts, fine art, photography, animation, crafts, graphic design, illustration, creative technology and games courses. It has a wealth of facilities for these disciplines including, but not limited to – multiple film soundstages; virtual production, motion capture and visual effects studios; animation rostrum rooms; analogue film processing and darkrooms and digital imaging studio; live performance room with musical instruments, control room for sound mixing, dubbing theatre, radio studios, TV studio and foley studio; specialist environments and equipment to support its craft courses; dedicated building with high-end games creation and experiencing environments and facilities; immersive VR studios; comic and concept art digital studio.

Maidstone Television Studios – Studying in the UK’s largest independent TV studio facility means you’ll have access to live galleries, editing suites and an audio booth, as well as a fully stoked equipment store and library.

  6. Improving the provision of sustainable food by catering services
  7. Encouragement of staff and student engagement in social and environmental sustainability projects

UCA Creative Europe Scholarship
  • Value: Fee reduction to the equivalent of home student fee for duration of the course

  • Criteria: The scholarship will be automatically awarded if you meet all the eligibility criteria. You do not need to complete an application form.
