What Makes Canada Perfect for International Students?

Vast, wild landscapes, a superb quality of life, friendly, welcoming people – there are many reasons why Canada attracts so many people. Compared with other English-speaking countries, Canada’s tuition fees are among the lowest. With globally recognised qualifications, you’ll get a world-class education and the best value for money. According to the 2020 QS Rankings, six Canadian universities are in the top 150 – no wonder it’s such a popular international study destination!

A Bilingual Environment

Studying abroad is one of the best opportunities you will have to learn a new language, and in Canada you have the chance to learn two. Of course, you’ll be able to improve your English language skills, but you could also learn French which is widely spoken, especially in the eastern cities. Classes will be taught in English, there’s ample opportunity to put your French to the test by ordering mouth-watering Poutine and joining in with the local culture!

Gain Work Experience

During and after your studies, you can apply for a permit that allows international students to work in Canada. Although you won’t be able to work before you start your course, you’ll find part-time on-campus and off-campus options once you’ve started. If you meet the criteria after graduating, the Canadian government may allow you to stay up to three years so you can gain lots of valuable work experience. There’s more information on postgraduate working permits here.
