The University of Sulaimani was founded in 1968, is the oldest university and one of the largest public universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The University of Sulaimani offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs and awards Bachelor’s degrees, Higher Diploma degrees, Master’s degrees, and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.
The University of Sulaimani issues multiple academic journals. The university is home to several academic centers including: Gender Equality Center, Career Development Center, Language and Culture Center, Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development, Kurdistan Center for Documentation and Academic Research, Psychology Counseling Center, and Community-University Coordination Center.
The University of Sulaimani is the first public university in Iraq to partner with NCUK and currently delivers the International Foundation Year.
