International Year One *Xi’an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy is new and delivery of NCUK qualifications is subject to completing NCUK’s accreditation process.
Xi’an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy is an educational and scientific research institution jointly established by the Suzhou Municipal Peoples Government and Xi’an Jiaotong University. Xi’an Jiaotong University was founded in Shanghai in 1896 and moved to Xi’an in 1956. It was the first to enter the National “211” and “985” projects which comprise top universities in China. The academy will deliver NCUK’s International Foundation Year and International Year One in Business Management qualifications.
In 2004, Xi’an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy was established in the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone of Suzhou Industrial Park, adjacent to the Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University. Its main mission is to build a Chinese-foreign cooperative school base, a training base, a scientific research base and a scientific and technological achievements transformation base for Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Since its construction in 2002, Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone has been built into a modern new urban area integrating education and research, industries, and living facilities. It has explored a new development path led by high-end talents, characterized by cooperation in running schools, and oriented toward collaborative innovation. It was approved as the first ‘Demonstration Area for Internationalization of Higher Education’ in China, attracting 28 institutions of higher learning and one national research institute, with 78,500 students and 6,365 faculty.
