Northumbria

We are delighted to be partnering with NCUK, a pathway provider with a fantastic reputation, known for supporting students who bring a wealth of diversity and academic excellence to universities. We very much look forward to welcoming these bright minds to Northumbria University

Rob Carthy, Director of International at Northumbria University

The university’s commitment to applied learning is exemplified through partnerships with leading global brands and organizations. In fashion, students work directly with companies like adidas, Levi’s, and Kering through The Microfibre Consortium on sustainability initiatives. Through the Syllabus programme with size?, a global streetwear and footwear retailer, students tackle live briefs for brands including Vans, with successful projects translating into real marketing campaigns and graduate employment opportunities.

Northumbria’s impact extends across industries – from engineering partnerships with Lockheed Martin on space research and satellite technology, to creative collaborations with Penguin Random House, Spotify (through RSA Student Design Awards), and Philips on AI-driven healthcare solutions. The university also works closely with the National Crime Agency and UK Police Forces on digital forensics innovation.

This applied approach has produced notable alumni including Sir Jony Ive (former Chief Design Officer at Apple and globally renowned industrial designer), Amanda Berry OBE (former CEO of BAFTA), and Chris Whitty (Chief Medical Officer for England).
