NCUK partners with ABAC Study Abroad Centre

An ambitious partnership has been established between NCUK and the ABAC Study Abroad Center that will commence by introducing the International Foundation Year (IFY) Business programme in September 2017.

The ABAC Study Abroad Center is the study abroad unit of Assumption University of Thailand, the top ranked private university and the first International University in Thailand. The University’s international reputation continues to this day as it offers a number of joint degree programmes with UK, US and Australian Universities to students of 90 nationalities in total. “We are really pleased to be working with Assumption University given its great academic quality, experienced and highly-trained teaching staff, and modern facilities.” commented NCUK’s Market Development Director, Georgina Jones.

Vanvisut Viravan, Dean for ABAC study abroad also expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership by adding: “We are delighted to be partnered with NCUK as it is truly exciting to give Thai students the opportunity to get guaranteed entry to prestigious UK universities. One of the advantages NCUK can offer our students is alternative study options, too, for example to Australia, the US or Ireland. One qualification provides multiple exit routes and NCUK’s track record of success.

In fact, there are several benefits for Thai students who will enrol in the IFY Business programme as they will obtain a quality qualification that meets the highest academic standards and is also widely recognised by UK universities. Thai students will be provided with thousands of degree options to choose from, and the completion of the IFY programme will guarantee their progression to UK universities. Also, the students will be able to save time and money by choosing our one-year programme instead of the two-year A Levels as this means they will start their university life a year earlier.

The new partnership will be formally launching in Bangkok on 16th March and attended by NCUK’s Market Development Director as well as many of the NCUK universities. This includes the University of Leeds, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Birmingham, University of Bristol and University of Kent.

Assumption University has plans to introduce the NCUK International Year One (IYOne) from September 2018, enabling students to study on a 2+2 pathway, which means that after completing the IFY programme they could stay in Thailand studying for the first year of University, and spend the next two years of their degree abroad. This pathway allows students the necessary time to adapt to their international studies from the comfort of their home, while also works in their best academic and financial interests.
