The partnership between the University of Sulaimani International Study Centre and NCUK was officially announced in July 2025. This collaboration provides students in Iraq with the opportunity to study the NCUK International Foundation Year, readily preparing them for study at international universities.

A key highlight of the visit was a signing ceremony, celebrating the partnership ahead of the first cohort of students beginning their NCUK studies at the University of Sulaimani International Study Centre in Kurdistan later this year.

Stuart Smith commented,

The addition of the University of Sulaimani International Study Centre to our network represents a significant milestone for NCUK, expanding into Kurdistan in Iraq. I am delighted to welcome this new partner to London and commemorate our partnership with a launch ceremony, which underscores our shared commitment to providing students with access to world-class education. We look forward to seeing this collaboration grow and to continue to support students on their journey to academic and professional success.

Looking ahead, both NCUK and the University of Sulaimani International Study Centre are excited about the possibilities for expanding programme offerings, enhancing joint initiatives, and deepening cultural and academic exchanges. Dr. Serwan Al-Zahawi also plans to visit NCUK University Partner, Brunel University London as well as one of NCUK’s UK Study Centres, Malvern House London to explore further opportunities for their students within the extensive NCUK Global Network.

This visit reaffirms the strong partnership between NCUK and the University of Sulaimani International Study Centre, and highlighting the vast opportunities available for both institutions as well as students who choose to start their study abroad journey with them.
