Opportunity to become NCUK’s next Chief Executive

NCUK seeks its next Chief Executive to lead the business through its ambitious growth plans and enhance the strength of its network, creating more opportunities for international students to progress to NCUK Universities worldwide.

Professor John Brewer, NCUK’s CEO, comes to the end of his two-year tenure in October 2021. Since John’s arrival, he has led NCUK’s global network expansion and has helped the company to achieve year-on-year growth whilst also ensuring continuity for students throughout the pandemic, enabling them to progress to their chosen university. John has also successfully led the organisation through the first phase of its digital transformation project, setting solid foundations for the implementation stage of the project.

Starting as a sports science postgraduate researcher for Loughborough University, John joined the Football Association in 1988 and led the team which developed the Multistage Fitness “bleep test”. John joined the support teams for Sir Bobby Robson’s England Italia ’90 and England 1992 Cricket World Cup campaigns. John then worked in the private sector, including GlaxoSmithKline as Director of Sports Science. Since 2009, John has been PVC for Global Engagement at St. Mary’s University and DVC at Bucks New University. As NCUK CEO, he leads the global network’s growth plans whilst providing world-class study opportunities for students worldwide.

NCUK is now looking for its next Chief Executive to continue with the expansion of the company and to deliver its strategic plan for the years ahead.
